Fine expression of Pinot Noir fruit on the nose, deeper than expected and attractively “earthy” showing vineyard influence alongside Pinot purity, which continues on the palate with slightly briar aspects and fine natural tannins that compliment the fruit. This is a very attractive, well-made wine with vineyard personality. Once open, leave the wine to breathe and it will open up in the glass both in the texture of fruit, with smoothness replacing briaryness and tannins to back up the richness on the middle palate are quite impressive.

Vinification:

The Tavernetto vineyard is situated at 250 meters in altitude with exposure to the East. Of our three Pinot Nero Cru vineyards it benefits from the most equilibrated fruit growth-production cycle. Two different lengths of Guyot pruning help guarantee consistent results despite seasonal weather patterns. The soil is predominantly silty and suffers from less rain but the eastern exposure allows for longer fruit maturation and maintains the alcohol content.
