Comenge Verdejo, Rueda DO, Bodegas Comenge
Comenge Verdejo, Rueda DO, Bodegas Comenge
Straw yellow in colour with green hues. Clean and bright. Intense varietal aroma with highlights of citric fruit, fennel, dried grass and thyme. The palate is dry and fresh with volume, balance and good persistence. A nice and subtle bitterness and a long finish pleasantly displaying the characteristics of the old vines. Very elegant aftertaste on the palate.

Vinification: The Comenge Verdejo is produced from Verdejo grapes taken from 15 vineyards belonging to the Comenge family in the Curiel de Duero and Pesquera, in the heart of Ribera del Duero. In some cases, the vines are over 80 years old. The position and ‘terroir’ of the vineyards – in the upper regions of the Rueda plateau with diverse soil types (calcerous, poor in organic matter) of soils, sun exposure – is directly reflected in the unique character of each vintage. The Verdejo grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve varietal fruit character.
