The Turriga vineyard encompasses 15 acres. Calcerous and rocky soil with a Southeastern aspect. The vines were first planted here in 1970 with the first vintage of Turriga released in 1988. The final blend is 85% Cannonau, 5% Carignano, 5% Bovale Sardo and 5% Malvasia Nera. The grapes are meticulously hand picked in September. They are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks with racking for approximately 16-18 days. The wines are then aged in new French oak 225L barrels for 20 months. The final assemblage is made before the final wine spends a further 12 months in bottle before release.
