The Trappolini family have been growing grapes in the border area between Lazio and Umbria for more than three generations now but it was the current owners father Mario, who established the Trappolini winery in 1961. From a young age, Roberto and Paolo worked alongside their father and soon became equally skilled in understanding the vineyards, attending and caring for the vines and above all continuing Mario’s passion for winemaking. The Trappolini vineyards are located in and around Castiglione in Teverina, Civitella d’Agliano and Montefiascone, this being the volcanic area of Monti Volsini the rich, fertile soils are tufa. Today, brothers Roberto and Paolo produce wines that truly represent the richness and potential of the local grape varieties; Trebbiano, Procanico, Grechetto, Aleatico and Malvasia alongside more international varieties. Their respect for the land pushes them towards natural wine-growing without chemical additives.
