Together with his brother Angelo, Tommaso Lupi began to produce wines in the early 1960s, determined to cultivate local grapes and produce quality Ligurian wines. With his knowledge and determination, and after turning a 14th century building into a winery, the Lupi company was created.
Tommaso continued to pursue quality, drawing upon vinification techniques from nearby Piedmont and Veneto. Thanks to his increased knowledge, he expanded and started his own management of his vineyards, improving his techniques with an oenology consultant.
As of 2007, Casa Lupi has been run by Tommaso’s son Massimo and his wife Sara. They, along with their employees, uphold Tommaso’s dream by producing wines such as Vermentino, Pigato, and Ormeasco that are highly regarded by Italy’s top wine guides. www.casalupi.it
